Goal #60: Feed some ducks with Ryan

EDITED 10/24/11 with pictures!

Yesterday we went to the Cosley Zoo in Wheaton, IL. It's a teeny tiny zoo, about 5 acres. They had turtles, ducks, hogs, sheep, llamas, horses, cows, goats, chickens, and so on and so on.

Right when we arrived I heard an announcement that they were feeding the ducks and you could buy a serving of food to give the ducks yourself.

There was a stamped of kids and stay at home moms! Including us...

There were several types of ducks in the pond and they were all competitive. They would chase after each other if one got to the food faster. It was pretty funny & Ryan got a kick out of it. He hung around so long that were were the last ones left and he asked for another cup of food.

Aflac!

I had my camera in the car but I didn't take it into the zoo. Had I known we'd be able to feed ducks I would've taken it in. We'll go back before it gets super cold and feed them again.

Can't beat $3 admission for a few hours of discovery. Kids 17 and under are free!

Goal # 6: Read 50 books (7/50)

About a month ago I read 6 of 50: "Life, Love, and a Polar Bear Tatoo" by Heather Wardell. I was too far into it before realizing what it was going to be about so I finished reading it. It was an easy read but I won't be reading it again...

7/50
I just finished "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie. This was a pretty interesting book. Set in Jackson, MS in the 60's, the book shows the dichotomy between black maids and the white families they served.
